About Me

I’m Jen, a Certified Nutritionist and Elite Trainer through ISSA, with additional training from Harvard’s Sustainable Nutrition Program. I’m currently earning my BS in Applied Nutrition & Health with a focus on dietetics, and I offer both in-person and online nutrition coaching in the Lompoc/Santa Ynez Valley area. Alongside nutrition, I’m also a Reformer Pilates instructor, certified strength and conditioning specialist, and personal trainer, and I teach both one-on-one and group classes. This background shapes how I approach health as a whole-integrating nutrition, movement, and daily routines in a way that’s practical, individualized, and sustainable.

My Mission

To cut through nutrition noise and misinformation with clear, science-backed guidance, helping people step away from diet culture and build balanced, realistic routines that support long-term health and confidence.

My philosophy

My core philosophy is simply “eat what you want, add what you need.” I believe in structure without rigidity, flexibility without chaos, and balanced nutrition that still includes foods you enjoy. My approach is about stability, satisfaction, and learning how to support your body rather than fight it. You don’t have to be perfect to make progress. Everything I offer is fully individualized and 100% evidence-based, so you can stop chasing trends and start building habits that feel doable, kind, and sustainable. You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Support meets you where you are.

My background and personal journey

I didn’t always have a healthy or confident relationship with food. After years of yo-yo dieting, binge–restrict cycles, trying random supplements, and feeling overwhelmed by conflicting nutrition advice, I personally lost over 100 pounds and rebuilt my relationship with food and my body along the way. What made the difference wasn’t perfection or extreme rules, it was learning how to eat in a way that was evidence-based, flexible, and realistic for my life.

Through both lived experience and formal education, I learned what a healthy lifestyle actually looks like beyond diets, trends, or quick fixes. That experience shapes how I coach today. I approach nutrition with compassion, personalization, and a focus on helping you feel informed and confident (not overwhelmed or restricted) so changes feel sustainable and supportive long-term.

How I Support You

Nutrition doesn’t exist in isolation. Stress, sleep, movement, routines, and daily life all influence how your body responds to food. Support is designed to bring these pieces together in a way that feels realistic and manageable, rather than overwhelming.

Coaching is fully individualized and may include nutrition guidance, habit-building strategies, practical tools, and education tailored to your goals, preferences, and lifestyle. The focus is on helping you understand why certain approaches work for you, so you feel confident making decisions outside of sessions as well.

My Approach to Nutrition

Who I Work With

I work with people from many different backgrounds and life stages, from busy professionals, parents, and students to athletes, shift workers, and individuals navigating hormonal changes, ADHD, or executive-function challenges. Some are focused on performance or structure, while others are simply trying to feel more consistent, less overwhelmed, and more at ease around food.

Many clients come in feeling stuck, confused by conflicting nutrition advice, or unsure what actually applies to them. If you’re looking for balanced, evidence-based guidance that adapts to your real life (without extremes or rigid rules) you’re in the right place.
